Hands-On STEM and Engineering Education

Our STEM and engineering education programs combine the core principles of science and engineering with hands-on projects and techniques that foster an encouraging and fun Online learning experience.

The Magic of STEM

STEM skills are relevant even outside of traditional science or engineering careers. STEM skills go beyond tackling difficult problems and breaking them down to easier-to-solve parts. These skills show students that taking risks and failing is an important part of the design and Virtual learning process.

What Students Will Learn

  • Mechanical design. Using off-the-shelf components and kits OR common household materials (specialized tools will not be required)

  • Electronics. Using components like LED’s, servos, and sensors

  • Programming. Using block coding and the BBC micro:bit to control the electronics

  • The Design Process. Students will learn the design cycle from brainstorming their idea, to building a prototype, to testing and iterating their project

Robust Education + Interactive Learning

We understand that there’s no one size fits all approach. By leveraging our passion and philosophy for a student-first learning method, we have developed interactive STEM and engineering-based programs that give each student a robust education broken down in a way that makes sense for them.

Comprehensive

Our curriculum is strategically designed to show students how things work the way they do. We help them better understand how to tackle problems while capturing the magic of learning and elevate their education.

Hands-On

Our maker camps teach students how to bring their course curriculum to life. We provide a hands-on, interactive experience that builds creative confidence and expand invention literacy.

Convenient

With the safety of our students and tutors in mind, we have structured each program in a way that can done virtually at anytime in the comfort of your home while still providing a fun, hands-on experience.

Hands-On Learning Programs Designed for Success

Once a month, each student will receive a subscription box with a fun project to build designed to inspire kids to think about the world around them and question why things are the way they are.

STEM Maker Camps (Group or Private)

Students learn the principles of engineering and design while building a hands-on project. Each month, the students will receive a STEM kit of materials, provided from top-quality STEM vendors such as KiwiCo. They’ll work in a small group of 4-6 students over Zoom to build the projects together, with a tutor to guide them and teach them the relevant engineering and design lessons behind the project.

Offered Monthly

Code & Build (Group or Private)

Learn to code and build projects with the micro:bit! The BBC micro:bit is a powerful learning tool that can be used to make everything from robots to an automatic hand washing timer. Students will learn to use block-coding to program their micro:bit, while using simple electronics and everyday household materials to design and build projects. Because of the flexibility of the micro:bit, students are encouraged to come up with their own idea for a project and the tutor will guide them through the design process while teaching them the relevant skills.
