Stephanie Schmit
FOUNDER/DIRECTOR
Meet Stephanie, a seasoned tutor with over a decade of experience and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. She's a true expert in tutoring high school math and science and highlights the importance of the design process and technical decision-making through real-world engineering examples. She is a trusted and adept resource for guiding young learners toward their educational goals.

Jason Gonsalves
MATH, CHEMISTRY, PHYSICS TUTOR
Jason tutors all high school math and science and college courses including calculus, linear algebra, biochemistry, and competition math. He taught himself two semesters of organic chemistry! Jason studied at Harvard and MIT, teaching high school students in MIT’s Educational Studies Program (ESP). With over a decade of tutoring experience, he inspires inquisitiveness and courage in his students. One student who was getting Cs in math, after only 3 lessons with Jason scored an A on the next test. Jason’s favorite part of tutoring is watching students progress and get better over time.

Chris Fountaine
MATH TUTOR
Chris has loved math ever since he took Algebra 1, which led him to browse calculus books in his free time and eventually receive his MS degree from Tufts University. Since 2014, Chris has tutored in math and SAT prep in the Boston area. He loves hiking, cooking, and taking care of his many plants!

Jasmine Florentine
ENGINEERING TUTOR
Jasmine is an author and illustrator who is passionate about using creative approaches to engage kids with STEM. Previously, she was an engineer and artist at FIRST, a non-profit that runs robotics competitions to inspire students to pursue STEM. Jasmine has a B.S. and M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from MIT.

David Roberts
RETIRED ASTROPHYSICS PROFESSOR
Professor Roberts teaches courses ranging from introductory astronomy and physics through graduate level quantum mechanics. His students say his enthusiasm is infectious, his classes are clear and especially interesting, and that he cares about his students and helping them improve. He is William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor Emeritus of Astrophysics at Brandeis University. He studied at Amherst College and Stanford University, researching and teaching at MIT, Caltech, and JPL. Professor Roberts' research concentrates on astrophysical phenomena driven by black holes, both in our Milky Way Galaxy and in distant galaxies.

Amber Houghstow
MATH & SCIENCE TUTOR
Amber has been shaping minds and futures with her exceptional tutoring skills since 2007. She loves teaching students and helping them gain a deeper understanding of complex concepts. Amber holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from MIT and a master's degree in international relations from Harvard, and was the co-executive director at the Center for Environmental Peacebuilding.
Amber taught remedial middle school math classes for two years as part of Teach for America, covering material from the 4th to the 7th grade, and her classes succeeded at meeting the standardized testing goals!
From interactive hands-on activities to targeted one-on-one tutoring sessions, Amber is experienced in a variety of teaching methods to engage students and improve problem solving, grades, and test scores.
